Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas from our family to yours!

Little King's View of Heaven

Today I was talking to Little King (3yrs 4mo) about the story of Christmas, the story of Jesus' birth. I continued on explaining that Jesus was a boy like him, he listened very intently as I told the story. I continued to talk about the crucifixion, and in response Little King said "Mommy, I did't want Jesus to die on the cross..." I told him that it was very sad, and I explained why Jesus had to die on the cross, because we are sinners, we all disobey, we all lie, we all do wrong things and when we sin we cannot be in Heaven with Jesus some day. Knowing he probably would not understand I explained that Jesus had to die on the cross for our sins, to forgive us of our sins, so that we could have the opportunity to be in Heaven some day with Jesus.

Looking very serious, and puzzled Little King said "Mommy, but I don't know how to get to Heaven..." I smiled in disbelief at his honesty and I told him that I knew how to get to Heaven. I explained salvation to him, the best I could for a 3 year old. His little 3 year old mind is not ready to comprehend such a story of love, and forgiveness and sacrifice.

Looking bold Little King told me "Mommy, I can get to Heaven, I can get there all by myself..." and I could not help but feel many emotions. First I felt sad, as any parent, knowing that my child is going to have to make his own decision regarding his relationship with the Lord in the future, just like all of us had to do. Second, I was overwhelmed with the reminder to pray for his little soul.

Thirdly I thought of how many people in this world think they can get to Heaven on their own. That they have all the answers, and that they can fend for themselves. So I wanted to challenge you this Christmas season to be thankful that God sent His son, and the offer of salvation to each and every one of us...and to remind us that we could not have obtained salvation any other way, and no matter what we think we cannot do it on our own...

(And I promise, Little Kingreally had this conversation with me!)

Hubby & I Sing Duet...

"Tre" and I had the opportunity to sing a duet together in our church Christmas program last night. Our music director did a wonderful job leading our choir! I don't know if we will ever get the opportunity to sing together again...but it was fun...

Little Wiseman Walks! (Video)

I forgot to mention on here (I am so addicted to Facebook, but I have real life people on there). Anyway Little Wiseman had tubes in his ears last week, the day before Thanksgiving and although I showed pics last month of LW taking his first steps it stayed at about 2 steps per day. Anyway in checking his ears he had TONS of fluid. So we had tubes put in.
Wed were tubes, by Thurs he was walking across rooms, and by Fri & Sat he spent the entire days walking. Earlier this week he was already trying to run. It is SO MUCH more fun now that he walks, and walks pretty well!
